Town Council members voted unanimously Tuesday to fire Public Works Director Jim
yeomans.
yeomans' dismissal came on the heels of an unpaid suspension recommended May 8 by Mayor Marlene Wagner. Council members approved the measure in a 3-1 vote with Councilman Ralph Harris voting against it. Councilwoman Cora Roberson was absent.

yeomans said Friday he was broadsided during Tuesday's council meeting when Council Chairwoman Kathi Latimer told the council Mayor Marlene Wagner, who was not at the meeting for health reasons, had recommended his unpaid suspension.
