CHEYENNE -- A fire with flames 100 to 200 feet high erupted Friday at an oil well east of Cheyenne owned by SM Energy.

A huge cloud of smoke filled the air east of Cheyenne Friday morning. The smoke was coming from an oil well owned by Saint Mary's Energy. It caught on fire approximately 10 miles east of Cheyenne near County Road 138.
