Anthony LaPanta was named the play-by-play announcer for Minnesota Wild television broadcasts on Fox Sports North on Tuesday by the Wild. LaPanta, a graduate of totino-Grace High School and St. John's University, has covered the Twin Cities sports scene since 1991.

The Grand Rapids Thunderhawk baseball team split a pair of games on Saturday afternoon as they dropped a 7-1 decision to Minnetonka before dropping totino-Grace, 5-1, to move their season mark to 8-5 overall on the season.
