The women of Morrison Medical Supplies learned the sewing trade the old-fashioned way: from their mothers and grandmothers. On a good day, Joyce Lucas, 70, who has been working for the manufacturer on the Far West Side for 15 years, can stitch out 1,000 of the Morrison restraining straps used by emergency service personnel and in hospitals.
Three local athletes place in state track championships

The Bryan County High girls track team finished 18th in the Class A State Championship last week with 12 team points. Tiffany Howard earned 11 of the points with a third place finish in the triple jump and a fourth place finish in the 800 meter run.
