New mural honors fallen Nebraskans

Dave Earnest, the Winslow artist who painted two patriotic murals along the Avenue of Flags in Fremont, and patriotic artwork in other area communities, unveiled plans for a mural along Broad Street that will pay tribute to all of Nebraska’s war dead since the terror attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
Rural golf comes up short of regional title

Washburn Rural had a pretty good day at the Class 6A golf regional at Wichita's Sim Park Golf Course, getting five scores in the 70s, including a 72 from freshman Andrew Beckler. Manhattan's day, however, was just a little bit better.
