BONNE TERRE - The first glove is thick and rigid, but the finger ends are rubbery, like the latex in dishwashing gloves. They are supposed to give an astronaut a little more dexterity than the rest of the glove allows, but it was easy to imagine how impossible any kind of delicate task would be wearing such gloves in outer space.
