Subway crime has increased by almost 20 percent this year, fueled by big spikes in robberies and grand larcenies, according to the latest NYPD data.
New Baltimore experiencing high amount of larcenies from vehicles

A rash of larcenies from vehicles have been reported in the city of New Baltimore over about the last two weeks, according to New Baltimore Sgt. John Willer. He said there have been about 10 complaints filed in a two-week span and to discourage future thefts patrols have been increased in the subdivisions. However, Willer added it is important to keep vehicles locked in any situation.

NIAGARA FALLS — larcenies, especially car break-ins, have grown to an alarming rate in the city during the last month. Now, both police and block clubs are asking residents to help police put a dent in such crimes by watching their neighborhoods and reporting anything out of the ordinary.

Queens has seen a significant jump in grand larcenies in the first four months of 2012, police statistics show. The high-end thefts were up 12% boroughwide as perpetrators continue to steal gadgets including iPhones and iPads at an alarming rate, according to NYPD statistics through April 22.
